HKM Charitable Foundation is a rapidly growing organization working towards a strong social and divine cause. As part of its expansion, HKMCF is developing Basil Woods School, Ghatkesar, Hyderabad, an upcoming K–12 educational campus.Basil Woods School currently operates four K–12 schools and ten preschools across Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Bhubaneswar.
Job Summary
The Manager – Finishes (Civil Construction) will be responsible for supervising and managing the finishing phase of school construction projects. The role requires hands-on site presence and ownership of all finishing works including plastering, tiling, painting, joinery, façade, and fixture installations. The ideal candidate should proactively share progress updates, identify and escalate bottlenecks on time, and ensure that finishing works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, timelines, and budget.Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all finishing activities to ensure timely completion within approved quality standards, schedule, and budget.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, and vendors for selection, approval, and execution of finishing materials such as flooring, cladding, false ceilings, painting, joinery, and façade works.
- Verify that all finishing materials comply with technical specifications, approved samples, and mock-up standards before execution.
- Supervise and guide finishing engineers, foremen, and skilled workforce to maintain high standards of workmanship and detailing.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality, accuracy of detailing, and consistency in finishes.
- Manage QA/QC processes including preparation of finishing checklists, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and sample approvals.
- Ensure correct application techniques for plastering, painting, tiling, marble work, waterproofing, and joinery through continuous monitoring.
- Coordinate with MEP teams to ensure proper sequencing and interface between services and finishing works.
- Support procurement activities by reviewing BOQs, validating supplier quality, ensuring timely material availability, and proper storage and handling.
- Review and approve contractors’ method statements and mock-ups prior to large-scale execution.
- Manage testing & commissioning, snagging, de-snagging, and final project handover activities.
- Track daily site progress, productivity, manpower deployment, and material usage; submit regular progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, statutory requirements, and HSE norms.
- Promote a culture of quality, accountability, teamwork, and safety on site.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate / Diploma in Civil Engineering (BE / B.Tech / Diploma or equivalent).
- 5–8 years of overall experience in residential or commercial construction projects.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with a contracting firm.
- Mandatory experience as Senior Engineer – Finishes within the last 3 years.
- Strong knowledge of finishing materials and techniques including tiling, plastering, waterproofing, painting, and joinery.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications.
Good-to-Have (Preferred Skills)
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and basic project planning tools.
- Basic understanding of budgeting, costing, and reconciliation statements.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and applicable building codes.
- Good reporting, email, and formal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and capability to work under pressure.
