Trainee Credit Analyst (Fresher)
Location: GurgaonReporting to: Chief Risk Officer (CRO)

Role overview
FincFriends Private Limited is hiring a Trainee Credit Analyst to support its credit risk team. This role combines foundational credit analysis with data analytics. You will help assess creditworthiness, monitor portfolio performance, and prepare insights that support lending and risk decisions.It is suited to a recent graduate looking to build skills in credit risk, SQL, Excel modelling, and Power BI.Key responsibilities
- Extract and manage data from internal systems using SQL for credit assessment and portfolio analysis.
- Review financial statements, banking data, and customer profiles to support creditworthiness assessments.
- Build and maintain Excel-based models, scorecards, and risk assessment templates.
- Create Power BI dashboards to track credit metrics, portfolio trends, and risk indicators.
- Prepare credit appraisal reports, summaries, and presentations for senior analysts and credit managers.
- Clean, validate, and reconcile data to maintain accuracy and consistency.
- Monitor repayment behaviour, delinquency trends, and early warning indicators.
- Work with Risk, Operations, and Finance teams to gather data and understand business requirements.
- Document processes, maintain data dictionaries, and help improve data workflows.
- Develop knowledge of credit risk concepts, relevant guidelines, and analytical practices.
Skills and competencies
Data and technical skills- Working knowledge of SQL, including queries, joins, and aggregations.
- Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookup functions, conditional formulas, data modelling, and charts. Basic VBA is a plus.
- Familiarity with Power BI, including data modelling, DAX, dashboard creation, and report publishing.
- Understanding of data cleaning, ETL concepts, and data quality checks.
- Basic understanding of credit risk, financial ratios, and lending principles.
- Ability to interpret financial data, identify patterns, and investigate anomalies.
- Strong quantitative reasoning, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- Clear communication and documentation skills.
- Collaborative approach and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. The source JD specifies candidates from IITs, BITS Pilani, IIITs, NITs, AIT Pune, and DTU.
- Internship or academic experience in data analysis, SQL, or financial analysis is an advantage.
- Certifications in Power BI, SQL, or financial analysis are helpful but not required.
