Job Summary

We are looking for a highly analytical and business-focused Collection Analyst to support collections strategy, recovery optimization, and operational performance analysis. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in collections analytics within fintech, banking, NBFC, or digital lending environments and possess deep understanding of the Indian collections ecosystem. The role requires strong analytical skills, hands-on SQL expertise, reporting capabilities, and the ability to translate data into actionable recovery strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual collections reports and dashboards.
  • Develop analytical reports, presentations, and business insights for senior management and collections leadership.
  • Analyze collection performance metrics and provide recommendations to improve recoveries and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and evaluate recovery funnel performance across different delinquency buckets.
  • Develop and track key collections KPIs such as Recovery Rate, Roll Rate, PTP, Kept PTP, Gross Efficiency, Contactability, RPC, and agency productivity metrics.
  • Perform deep-dive analysis on customer repayment behavior, collection trends, portfolio movement, and regional performance variations.
  • Analyze tele-calling, field collections, and agency/vendor performance to identify leakages and optimization opportunities.
  • Support strategy development for segmentation, treatment allocation, manpower optimization, and collections efficiency improvement.
  • Ensure reporting accuracy by comparing actual performance with historical trends, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Work closely with collections operations, risk, product, compliance, and vendor management teams to drive data-backed decisions.
  • Monitor complaints, escalations, audit observations, and compliance-related trends to identify operational and regulatory risks.
  • Create and maintain dashboards using Power BI or other BI tools for collections monitoring and management reporting.
  • Support automation and analytical process improvements using SQL and Python wherever applicable.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Analyst in Collections, Recovery Analytics, or Portfolio Analytics.
  • Prior experience in fintech, NBFC, banking, online lending, or digital lending companies is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of the Indian retail lending and collections lifecycle across delinquency buckets (0–30, 31–60, 61–90, NPA).
  • Good understanding of Indian borrower behavior, repayment patterns, regional collection trends, and seasonality factors.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in SQL including CTEs, window functions, stored procedures, and complex query writing.
  • Experience in Power BI or other business intelligence/reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and business communication skills.
  • Conversational to fluent English communication skills (C1–C2 preferred).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Python for analytics, automation, and data processing.
  • Knowledge of collections strategy analytics, scorecards, and segmentation models.
  • Understanding of agency management, tele-calling operations, and field collections processes.
  • Familiarity with collections compliance requirements, RBI digital lending guidelines, and customer communication controls.
  • Ability to identify risk patterns from complaints, audits, and escalation data.
  • Knowledge of geography-based collection productivity trends and operational challenges across Indian markets.
