Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-driven Accounts Receivable Manager to lead the organization's receivables function, drive collection efficiency, optimize cash flow management, and strengthen credit control processes. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in accounts receivable management, collections, reconciliations, financial controls, and stakeholder management, preferably within the NBFC, Banking, BFSI, Lending, or Financial Services industry.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable Management

  • Manage end-to-end Accounts Receivable operations, including invoicing, collections, customer account management, and reconciliations.
  • Monitor receivable aging reports and ensure timely collection of outstanding dues.
  • Develop and implement collection strategies to improve recovery rates and minimize delinquency.
  • Track customer payments and follow up on overdue accounts through structured collection mechanisms.
  • Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of receivable transactions.

Credit Control & Risk Monitoring

  • Review customer accounts and monitor credit exposure in collaboration with business and risk management teams.
  • Ensure compliance with approved credit terms, collection policies, and organizational guidelines.
  • Identify potential collection risks and proactively escalate high-risk accounts.
  • Analyze portfolio performance and collection trends to support decision-making.

Reconciliation & Financial Reporting

  • Perform regular reconciliation of customer accounts, collection ledgers, loan servicing records, and outstanding balances.
  • Prepare monthly receivable reports, aging analysis, collection efficiency reports, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Analyze collection performance and provide actionable insights to senior management.
  • Ensure accurate accounting and reporting of receivables in compliance with applicable accounting standards.

Process Improvement & Internal Controls

  • Strengthen internal controls related to receivables, collections, and customer account management.
  • Drive automation initiatives to improve AR processes, reconciliations, and MIS reporting.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs for receivables management and collection processes.
  • Coordinate with auditors during internal, statutory, and regulatory audits.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Collections, Legal, Risk, and Finance teams to resolve customer disputes and collection issues.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and external stakeholders to facilitate timely collections.
  • Provide periodic updates to senior management regarding receivable positions, collection performance, and risk exposures.

Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Accounts Receivable team.
  • Set performance goals, monitor productivity, and ensure service level adherence.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure timely closure of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end receivable activities.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong expertise in Accounts Receivable management, collections, reconciliations, and cash flow monitoring.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles, GST, TDS, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Tally, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, MIS reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on controls and accuracy.

Educational Qualification

  • CA, CMA, MBA (Finance), M.Com, B.Com, or equivalent qualification.
  • Additional certifications in Finance, Credit Management, Financial Analytics, or ERP Systems will be an added advantage.

  • Improvement in Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
  • Accuracy and timeliness of receivable reconciliations and reporting.

Preferred Industry Background

Candidates with prior experience in NBFCs, Banking, BFSI, Lending Institutions, FinTech, Housing Finance Companies (HFCs), or Financial Services organizations will be strongly preferred.
