Position: Hobbing Operator
Industry: Gearbox Manufacturing
Location: Moraiya, Ahmedabad
Working Hours: 09:00am to 09:00pm

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Hobbing Operator to operate and set up hobbing machines for manufacturing precision gears as per technical drawings and quality standards. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate gear cutting, maintaining machine efficiency, and meeting production targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, set, and adjust hobbing machines for gear cutting operations
  • Read and interpret gear drawings, specifications, and parameters
  • Select appropriate hobs, cutting speeds, and feed rates
  • Perform gear cutting as per required dimensions and tolerances
  • Inspect finished components using measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and gear tooth calipers
  • Monitor machine performance and maintain accuracy during production
  • Ensure proper tool maintenance and replacement when required
  • Maintain daily production reports and logs
  • Coordinate with Quality Control and Production teams for smooth workflow
  • Follow all safety guidelines and quality standards

Skills & Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience as a Hobbing Machine Operator in the mechanical or gear manufacturing industry
  • Strong knowledge of gear cutting processes and machine operations
  • Familiarity with measuring instruments and inspection techniques
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for machine operations

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: ₹25,000 – ₹35,000 per month (depending on experience and skill level)

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
