Job Responsibilities:

• Assemble, fit, and install gearboxes, gear assemblies, shafts, bearings, and couplings as per drawings
• Perform dismantling and reassembly of gearboxes for repair, maintenance, and overhauling
• Carry out alignment of gears and shaft assemblies using proper tools
• Inspect mechanical parts for wear, damage, and tolerance issues; replace parts when required
• Operate workshop machines like drilling, grinding, hydraulic press, and torque tools
• Read and understand technical and assembly drawings
• Identify mechanical problems and support root cause analysis
• Ensure proper lubrication, sealing, and finishing during assembly
• Follow safety guidelines and company SOPs at all times
• Coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance teams

Skills Required:

• Good understanding of mechanical drawings
• Knowledge of measuring tools (Vernier, Micrometer, Dial Gauge)
• Hands-on experience in fitting, assembly, and alignment
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Basic knowledge of industrial safety practices
